Am I the only one dying for ROTK's release date? I'm going to see it with my LOTR obsessed friend the first day it comes out...she also has a major crush on Orlando Bloom, so that should be really interesting. :-) heheheheheheh. So is anyone else planning on seeing it on its release date?

As much as I love LOTR, and am looking forward to "Return of the King", I can't stand crowds, so I'll probably wait a week or two. I have my pictures, DVD's and books to keep me grounded until I can see the movie, LOL! I borrowed from the library an interesting LOTR DVD by National Geographic about where middle earth might be in respect to the "actual earth". It was really fascinating.

I have some books on the making of the trilogy's movie, also. Some of the photos are really breathtaking!! Anyways, they're showing ROTK at midnight at a theater near me on Dec. 28th (i think that's the date) Time to nag mom hehehehehe. No, i probably won't go to that one..unfortunately.

I'm going on the release date! I got my tickets almost a week ago. The date for it is the 17th. I can't wait! Oh, I haven't read the TTT or RotK. So...no spoilers, ok?

Watched it today! *g* sooo great!! Love it!! Except a few mistakes and except some scenes I liked more, like they were in the book.

I read Tolkien's works when I was 13 years old... back in 1973, and I've been a huge fan ever since. The movies are icing on the cake.... but I like the cake best. New Line Cinima has rights to make The Hobbit, and Peter Jackson is interested, however, New Line does NOT have distribution rights... so a legal tangle ensues. Meanwhile, Peter Jackson is still busy with "King Kong" which will be out in 2005.
Bakshi's cartoon version of LOTR was more-or-less for the teenage that I was when it was released, but certainly not terribly good as a whole. (The Orcs were just weird. But the Nazgul were good.) And I detested the Hobbit cartoon.
Return of the King just won 11 Academy Awards. I agree with most of them, and wish that Sean Astin could have been nominated as best supporting actor. I cried when he fought to save Frodo.
